Well it's all over and it was crazier than I ever thought it would be. We raised over $2,500 after PayPal fees, had hundreds of well-entertained people watching at all times, and aside from some very-not-our-fault technical hiccups Saturday night, everything went pretty smoothly. We're all really amazed that you love some internet morons so much that you'd donate such an amount and we're touched. Deeply touched. In all sorts of places. Thank you.
What's next? Well not another stream for donations again I can pretty much guarantee. FF XIII-2 will have its first recording session next weekend, but I'm not streaming it. Gonna wait for the 3 months to elapse before I start posting vids on my hosting and YouTube. It's the rules on SA plus I need some time to work on redesigning (technically and graphically) my video site and moving it to a different server (same domain). We've started gathering equipment for the Four Swords [Adventure] LP and some money will go towards that. Oh but Sonic Generations will be ready for release in the middle of February, so that's not far away. Look for it on pokecapn's YouTube.
The money will go into a fund. Money will not be used for anything that does not directly contribute to our stupid internet video things. Spending will be well-documented in an as-of-yet nonexistent place. Donors who gave above what we think is 'The Really Weirdly High Donation Threshold' will receive a gift. Money for the gift will not come out of the fund. Donors will be contacted soon. Money will not be used for booze of any kind. Uh I think that about covers it.
Thanks to everyone who donated, watched, and supported us! Please continue to watch and support (preferably with words on the internet)!
Well, you all have been way more generous than I thought you would be. Donations have been trickling in all week and in total 24 different people donated $733.49 before PayPal fees. Needless to say, I'm completely floored at the response. This support for our cause in the form of dollars is heartwarming and we thank you. Further, I believe it thrusts upon me and the whole Posse a responsibility which we gladly accept. A responsibility to do good things that you want to see us do and that we want to do. We will put plans into action perhaps sooner than we planned, especially the Four Swords thing.
In light of donations, I would like to announce some things:
Once again, thanks to those of you who donated! See you all tomorrow!
Hi guys, Kung-Fu Jesus here. On January 31st, Square-Enix will release yet another piece of shit Final Fantasy game and I intend to record it blind (for a Let's Play which will be posted later) with the usual banter supplied by The Posse. There's just one catch... I don't really have any audio equipment anymore. Therefore, the weekend before it is released (THIS COMING WEEKEND OF THE 28th), The Posse will stream games in an attempt to demean ourselves in the hopes that you, the internet, will be sympathetic to our plight and find it in your hearts to give us money.
No pressure on you guys. Anything we do collect will 100% go towards enriching our recording ability. As far as which games, we have some stuff lined up we think you'll like. We'll be playing the games normally but conditions will kick in if you donate. If we reach donation milestones, we will stream good games.
I am going to drink A Gallon Of Bud Select 55 because I can't think of any video games to play. For every $5 directed to me, I will lie down on the floor and cry like a newborn seal.
Okay, we got some games that I can play like GOD HAND, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Mega Man X (bet ya didn't know I could play this game didja?), Rez, and Gitaroo Man! I'll start with Rez in direct assault mode but if that doesn't get your dick wet you can donate to have me play through Gitaroo Man which is a crazy game from Japan. For GOD HAND I'll be taking donations for one of two combos: drunken combo or pimp slap. Vote with money, first to $50, but please vote because until then I am only allowed to use starting moves!
I will be playing a game of my own invention, Sonic the Floathog, in half-hour chunks. For every $5 directed to me, I will play a level from the fangame Sonic The Hedgehog 2D. That's $70 for the whole game. I'm getting the piss shivers already.
I'll be playing through Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary in half hour chunks. For every $2 directed to me, one of my buttons will be disabled for that chunk, starting with the least important ones first and ending in B. So for every $14, I will become MegaScrub for those 30 minutes, using only the two sticks to play.
I'll be playing Castlevania III and Super Castlevania IV. If $25 is directed to me, add Castlevania II to the list. If $25 more is directed to me, add Dracula X to the list.
Also, for every donation, no matter who it's directed to or what the amount is, I will give a dramatic reading of a @Horse_ebooks tweet of your choice (please include in your comments).
If we reach $75 between all four of us, pokecapn will take on medibot in a Pro YoCo First To Three.
If we reach $150 between all four of us, MyNameIsKaz will take us on a wonderful journey through Super Metroid.
If we reach $225 between all four of us, Kung-Fu Jesus and medibot will read and re-enact this academic paper.
If we reach $300 between all four of us, medibot will play embarassing motion games on camera.
If we reach our final goal of $400 between all four of us, Kung-Fu Jesus will forge and eat a Velveeta Cheesy Skillet on camera. If anyone has any better/funnier suggestions, please make them known in the comments. (Cheese Skillets are probably funny only to pokecapn and KFJ check it)
Any donations past $400 will go towards bandwidth costs and equipment costs for highly inventive LPs (Zelda Four Swords)
Please include who you will be directing your money towards and your horse tweet in the Paypal notes. If you've already donated, thank you for your support and we will get in touch with you so you can make your choices.
